About the Lake Como Ferry Planner

A simpler way to explore Lake Como ferry times and plan journeys between towns around the lake.

What is this site?

The Lake Como Ferry Planner is an independent, unofficial journey-planning tool for passenger ferry travel on Lake Como in Italy. It is designed to make it easier to compare sailings between places such as Bellagio, Varenna, Menaggio, Como, Cadenabbia, Tremezzo, Lenno, Bellano, Colico and other stops around the lake.

Rather than reading across several timetable tables, you can choose where you are travelling from and to, select a date and time, and see useful ferry options in chronological order.

What journeys does it show?

The planner combines ordinary passenger services and fast services where they are available. It can show direct journeys, through journeys that continue via intermediate stops, and useful one-change connections. Fast services are marked clearly because they may have different ticketing or supplement requirements.

Lake Como has some locations with separate passenger and vehicle-ferry terminals. Where the official journey planner distinguishes those terminals, the timetable data keeps that distinction.

Where does the timetable data come from?

The timetable is generated from journey information published by the official Lake Como operator, Navigazione Laghi. An automated process queries the official journey planner, builds a structured timetable and validates known journeys before updated data is published to this site.

This approach is intended to keep the planner useful as timetables change between seasons, while refusing to publish a generated timetable if validation indicates that important data may be missing.

Why was it made?

The official Lake Como ferry network is extensive, but planning a day involving several towns can mean comparing multiple services, stopping patterns and timetable tables. This site was made to provide a quicker journey-finder view while still encouraging travellers to confirm important sailings with the operator.

Is it official?

No. This site is not affiliated with Navigazione Laghi, Gestione Governativa Navigazione Laghi or the Italian transport authorities. It does not sell tickets and cannot guarantee that a particular sailing will operate.

Before travelling: operating conditions, weather, traffic and timetable revisions can affect services. Check official operator information before relying on a journey, particularly the last boat of the day.
